Susan Cox

Susan Cox is an architect turned sculptor, working primarily in glass. She received her M.Arch from Columbia University, worked in architecture for a number of years before pivoting to sculpture.

Cox typically works in series exploring spatial relationships and human connections to specific landscapes. Her present series involves exploring the visual experience of being in a forest, “In Conversation with The Forest” explores the physical experience and the emotional impact of nature on the observer.

Susan’s work reflects her ideas about the landscape+people connection:  What incites a sense of awe, what landscape makes an individual feel most comfortable in or “at home” in, what does being immersed a specific landscape do to a person.

She works and lives in Pound Ridge, NY
